You should be using Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher on your computer. 2. Connecting to a computer causes the CASSIOPEIA Calculator, Clock, and other programs to shut down. 3. Never remove the CASSIOPEIA from the cradle or disconnect its cable while a data synchronization operation is in progress. Doing so creates the risk of corrupting the data being synchronized. 4. If your CASSIOPEIA is configured with a password, use the password to log in to the CASSIOPEIA and then connect to the computer. 5. In order to ensure that PC Connect operates properly, turn on the following option on your computer: [Date/Time] -> [Time Zone] -> [Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes]. 6. Before removing the CASSIOPEIA from its cradle or cable, close all windows except for the main window. Next, after making sure that Ready is displayed in the status bar, remove the CASSIOPEIA. 7. If you are experiencing trouble establishing a connection between your CASSIOPEIA and computer, it may mean that another application is already using the COM port assigned to PC Connect. (*) 8. If you find that it is impossible to establish a connection between your CASSIOPEIA and computer, try restarting your computer. 9. If you cannot re-establish a connection between your computer and CASSIOPEIA after changing Connection Settings, it means that your changes have not been applied. << Install/Uninstall >> 1. If you have ActiveSync or CE Service installed on your computer, you also need to disable the applicable USB or serial connection. 2. Uninstalling PC Connect or Active Sync also causes the USB driver to be uninstalled. Reinstall the USB driver after uninstalling PC Connect or Active Sync. << General Synchronization >> 1. MS Outlook must be installed on the computer with which you are synchronizing in order to synchronize Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Mail data. (*) 2. Correct synchronization is not possible if the clock settings of the computer and CASSIOPEIA do not match. Time synchronization is performed based on your computer's operating system. Make sure that the settings of your computer's clock, including the summer time setting, are correct. 3. Synchronization is supported for a single user only. Synchronization is not possible if a different user is logged on to the computer. 4. Intellisync for CASSIOPEIA does not support the Filter function. (*) 5. Do not perform any operation on your CASSIOPEIA while a synchronize operation is in progress. 6. The confirmation message appears before deletion of all records, even when both of the confirmation options are unchecked. 7. Performing the Show Desktop operation while data synchronization is in progress may produce an abnormal display image. 8. Be sure to quit all programs running on your CASSIOPEIA before starting data synchronization operation. 9. Certain computer system font settings can cause text data to appear abnormal on your CASSIOPEIA screen. 10. A synchronize operation may not stop immediately after you click the [STOP] button. Data Synchronize ends after transfer of Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Mail data is complete. Folder Synchronizes ends after transfer of the current file is complete. 11. The data in a field that is not mapped to a corresponding field may become garbled. (*) 12. Synchronization will terminate even if it is not complete if CASSIOPEIA memory becomes full during synchronization. This condition can make operation of your CASSIOPEIA unstable. Keep in mind that the memory capacity of your CASSIOPEIA is less than that of your computer. Periodically perform the following steps to avoid problems causes by lack of memory. - Delete MS Outlook data you no longer need. - Move data that does not need to be synchronized into a folder that is not configured for synchronization. Also, you should always check to make sure there is enough memory space available on your CASSIOPEIA before performing data synchronization. 13. Even when you have [CASSIOPEIA Wins] or [Outlook Wins] specified for [Advanced Settings] -> [Conflict Resolution], this settings is not applied to data export. Because of this, the "Confirmation" dialog box that appears during an export operation may specify a resolution method that is opposite the one you have specified on [Advanced Settings]. Be sure you carefully read the contents of the "Confirmation" dialog box carefully before clicking its [OK] or [Cancel] button. (*) << Calendar Synchronization >> 1. Any MS Outlook appointment scheduled for a date greater than 31 cannot be edited in the CASSIOPEIA Calendar program after data synchronization. 2. A Calendar data whose size is larger than 64 Kbytes will not transfer. (*) << Contacts Synchronization >> 1. CASSIOPEIA -> MS Outlook synchronization does not synchronize the Anniversary and Birthday fields. (*) 2. Even if the URL field of the CASSIOPEIA being synchronized is deleted, the MS Outlook Web page address field is not deleted following synchronization. Delete the MS Outlook Web page address field manually. (*) 3. Performing data synchronization when there is no Name or Company input in MS Outlook data causes the text "No Name" and "No Company" to be input in the applicable fields in the CASSIOPEIA data. 4. A Contacts data whose size is larger than 64 Kbytes will not transfer. (*) << Mail Synchronization >> 1. Select the Mail Synchronization Translator after configuring CASSIOPEIA Connections settings. 2. Any address that does not include the @ character is not recognized as a valid e-mail address, and so it is not synchronized. (*) 3. Advanced Settings for Mail does not have Field Mapping settings. 4. There is not setting for [Advanced Settings for Mail] -> [General] -> "Specify the maximum size of the message body to be synchronized". (*) 5. Moving a CASSIOPEIA-Outlook synchronized mail message to another folder on your CASSIOPEIA causes the Outlook fields that are not subject to synchronization to be deleted. 6. A mail message whose size is larger than 32 Kbytes will not transfer properly. (*) 7. Even if you delete a Mail Account on the CASSIOPEIA, the computer's Mail Synchronization settings are not deleted. Choose "" for the translator on the "Choose Translator" dialog box to clear the settings. (*) 8. Mail exported from the CASSIOPEIA to the MS Outlook Inbox or Sent Items cannot be edited. 9. Mail synchronization can be performed for a single particular mail account only. You cannot change to another mail account for synchronization. 10. The only CASSIOPEIA Mail folders that can be mapped using the "Map CASSIOPEIA Mail Folder(s)" dialog box are Inbox, Outbox, Queue, and Sent. << Tasks Synchronization >> 1. If you change the contents of a synchronized Task record and then perform data synchronization, the record is added to CASSIOPEIA Tasks as a different record. (*) 2. Repeated Import/Export can lead to incorrect Completed field and Priority field data. (*) 3. The Tasks application of your CASSIOPEIA does not have a due date field. Even if you map a field to [Due Date], the mapping is ignored. << Folder Synchronization >> 1. The following files cannot be specified for synchronization. - Each drive's root folder - Each drive's \Windows folder - Each drive's \Winnt folder - Each drive's \Program Files To PC Folder default is C:\. Change this to a folder other than the ones listed above. 2. On the CASSIOPEIA, data is stored in the My Documents folder under the Nand disk. 3. Do not create a My Documents folder or Virtual Disk folder in the root. 4. The progress display may appear to stop when transferring a very large file. 5. When using Folder Synchronize, transfer is not performed if the name of the file being transferred exceeds the maximum file name length allowed by Windows. << Backup/Restore >> 1. The Backup and Restore operations take considerable time to complete. Because of this, you should always use the AC adaptor to power the CASSIOPEIA when performing these operations. - Time required with a USB connection: At least 5 minutes - Time required with a serial connection: At least 40 minutes 2. The Backup function backs up all files currently stored in CASSIOPEIA memory. Partial backup of specific data is not supported. 3. You can create multiple backups, but make sure there is enough room on your computer's hard disk before starting. A backup requires approximately 12MB of disk space. 4. You cannot restore a CASSIOPEIA with data backed up from a different CASSIOPEIA. 5. Before restoring its data, the CASSIOPEIA deletes all of the programs and data currently in its memory. 6. Restoring your CASSIOPEIA to its factory default configuration deletes all programs and data currently in its memory. Use Restore only if your CASSIOPEIA stops operating properly and proper operation is not restored by a full reset. 7. You cannot interrupt a Restore operation once it starts. Restart your CASSIOPEIA after the Restore operation is complete. 8. Restore factory defaults and then perform [Settings] -> [Align Screen] on your CASSIOPEIA. (*) This restrictions are based on Intellisync specification of Pumatech.
